Bonnie is a longtime homeowner in nearby downtown Mystic with a deep love of the sea. She is a retired Captain in the U.S. Navy Reserve Civil Engineer Corps (Seabees), and her husband Jim is a former Captain of USS Toledo, based at the sub base in Groton. Bonnie is a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Architecture, and the Maxwell School, with a dual degree in Architecture and Geography. She is an expert in home construction, renovation and subdividing property, and has taken many specialty classes to ensure that she is able to go above and beyond when it comes to meeting the unique needs of each of her clients.

Bonnie and Jim are currently members of the United States Navy League and have always maintained a strong commitment of service to others. Bonnie has worked as an athletic coach for Sacred Heart School and Girls Travel Soccer for Town of Groton, and was also a very active Troop leader for the Girl Scouts. She more recently focuses much of her efforts towards seniors and volunteers and is vice president for the board of Our Shoreline Community Association (OSCA), which is a naturally occurring retirement community located along the shoreline of Southeastern Connecticut. Their mission is to enhance the independent lives of seniors by providing the support and security of a retirement community in their own homes. Bonnie is also a longtime member of the Mystic River Historical Society, the Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Bonnie was on the Historic District Commission but had to resign when elected to Groton Town Council in 2015.
