Real Estate Update from Shutters & Sails 3/29/20
Dear Friends and Fellow Islanders,
First and foremost, I hope this letter finds you all well and able to spend quality time with family and loved ones. As we navigate through this temporary new normal, I continue to hope that we can all find time for creativity, positive energy and laughter. We are all in this together, please reach out if there is anything we can do. The health and safety of our staff, friends and community is our highest priority.
At the moment, the Governor of NY considers real estate to be a non-essential business and has asked all real estate professionals to stay home and work from home. While this does limit showings and inspections at this time, it does not limit us from virtual showings, virtual home tours and virtual listing presentations. There has been a recent increase in website visitors and listing views and along with those who are missing the island, we do believe there continues to be serious buyers and sellers staying up on the market from their homes. Unlike the Hamptons and CT shoreline, at this time we have not had rental requests for people wanting to flee the cities. We do, however, continue to book rentals for June, July & August.
During this time, we are able to continue to support you remotely. Our office may be closed however, our staff and agents are working remotely and aside from physical showings, we are fully operational. Our technology and social media platforms make it easy for us to work from home and continue to provide an exceptional level of service. Our new favorite business apps seem to be Zoom, MS Teams, FaceTime, etc. Happy to virtually walk you through any house you may be interested in.
We, along with our real estate and industry professionals meet virtually on a daily basis staying on top of industry changes and continually navigating the disruption. Agents, Lenders, Appraisers, Attorneys, etc. are all adapting to a new way of doing business in this time of Stay Home, Stay Safe protocols.
